Black Mamba is a Super Heavyweight lifter/rammer built by GF93 of Ice Cubed Robotics. Designed with reliability, control and balanced defence and offence in mind, it is an incredibly low and invertible four-wheel drive robot, protected by lightweight yet strong armour and surrounded with spring-loaded skirts around the front and sides to provide effective protection from most designs, particularly wedges. The rear panel features a quartet of sharpened Spikes on the corners for additional defence, yet still allowing it self-righting capabilities.

Its main feature however, is its powerful Four Bar Lifting Arm. Not only is it strong enough to effectively lift over 330lbs (150kg), but it is also capable of self-righting Mamba when it is flipped over due to its lack of a rear wedge, and is equipped with a special "locking" mechanism that allows it to stay in one position when raised. This works in tandem with a pair of reinforced Titanium Spikes designed to get under opponents and slide into wheel arches and other such gaps, allowing it to impale opponents, hold them into the air, and carry them around. The end of the arm also comes equipped with a special triangular Tyre Cutting Blade, nestled between the Spikes. Machined from Titanium and almost razor-sharp, it is well-suited for shredding an opponent's exposed tyres, and even causing external chassis damage. With these attachments, Mamba's Lifting Arm is a dangerous and adaptable weapon that is well-suited for dealing with its opponents in a variety of creative methods.

The second Super Heavyweight design from the team after the successful Lethal Injection, Mamba has successfully followed in its predecessor's footsteps to become a serious contender in its own right- earning three award nominations and finishing joint Third-Place in the Crazy Bots Blazing Ruin Super Heavyweight Division, losing out to the eventual Champion F-Dynasty in the Playoffs.

Named after one of the most aggressive and dangerous types of snake in the World, it’s an adaptable and reliable machine that certainly lives up to its namesake’s sinister reputation.

Trivia

  • Black Mamba is named after the common name for the Dendroaspis polylepis, one of the fastest and most venomous snakes in Africa. Despite its name, the snake is named for the black colour of its mouth rather than its scales, unlike the robot.
  • Black Mamba's original name was King Cobra, and would have had a brown snakeskin pattern on its armour as opposed to black.
