Coup de Grâce is one of the flagship designs of the Alpha Robotics team. It is known for its highly potent hammer weapon, with half of its wins happening by KO. It is also known for its tendency to make large dents in the arena floor, and was one of the three bots in the "walking death hammer trio" in the R.O.B.O.T.S. competition (the other two being Elrathia of The Monsterworks, and Axtinguisher of Ice Cubed Robotics). Coup was given a walking system later in its career in order to keep up with the oncoming bricks and spinners, though it may return to wheeled drive in the next tournament.

It was first entered into the short-lived tournament of Robot Bastards 2: The New Era, where it had a wheeled design. It did very well in the 4 weeks of the tournament, winning 3 fights of the four. In order to continue this success, it was entered into the tournament known as R.O.B.O.T.S. where it was able to try out a walker system, along with a new look. It had very positive results, surviving and knocking out spinners such as Death Metal, and even winning a close judges decision against the infamous brick, Hellhound V. It eventually won the HW championship against the low wedge of Redemption Denied, giving Alpha Robotics it's first championship win.
